Auckland International Backpackers is located in the beautiful Parnell, just a 20 minutes walk from town.
From the Airport: We recommend taking the Airbus Express into Auckland City Centre, alighting at Queen Street. The bus costs $13 ($20 return) with a backpacker card or $15 ($22 return) for an adult and runs between 5:50am and 10pm. From Queen Street you can neither walk to the hostel or take the Link bus.
From Town: You can either catch the Link bus which runs every 10-15mins between 7am and 11:30pm costing $1.60 for an adult one way (hop-off at Fraser Park) or you can walk.
To walk from town head down Queen Street to the junction with Customs Street. Turn right up Customs Road, following the road past car rental places on the right and Shell Petrol Station on the left until you reach another cross road. Cross over the road and walk up Parnell Rise. At the top of the hill take Earle Road by Westpac bank. Follow the road straight and you will walk straight into the hostel.
By Car: If you're coming off the 1 motorway, you need to take the Grafton exit and follow it to the end. You will come to some traffic lights (you are forced to turn right). Go to the bottom of this road and turn left (The park should be in front of you). Follow this road to the bottom of the traffic lights and turn right and head up the hill underneath the railway bridge. At the top of the hill, look out for Garfield street on the left (if you get to StarMart you have gone too far) turn down Garfield street and take the 3rd exit on the left (Churton Street) and follow to the bottom of the road. We are on the corner of Churton Street and Earle Street.
